What is the difference between biodegradable and compostable pouches?

Compostable pouches break down completely into non-toxic, soil-friendly matter within a defined time under the right composting conditions, and are certified to standards such as EN 13432. Biodegradable pouches also break down naturally but over a longer, less specific timeframe. If a controlled, residue-free outcome matters, choose compostable; we can advise which is right for your product.

Are biodegradable pouches home compostable?

Some are. We offer both home-compostable films, which break down in a domestic compost bin, and industrially compostable films, which need the higher temperatures of a commercial composting facility. We'll clearly label which type you're ordering so you can guide your customers.
